7.3L Ford Powerstroke

Between 1998 and 2003 over 1 million Ford F250 and F350 trucks were sold with the 7.3L Powerstroke engine.  Still standing as one of the most durable engines on the market, RJ Performance offers a limited supply of Factory EPA test engines with under 15,000 miles.  This limited supply of engines is a perfect re-power for all late model Ford trucks with the 7.3L Powerstroke engine option.  Creating 235 HP we have available replacement units for all F Series trucks including the F250, 350, 450, and 550, from 1999 to 2003 when the 6.0L Powerstroke replaced that power plant.  These engines are not remanufactured so there is no core charge or exchange required.

These factory manufactured units are complete with the following items:

5.             - Valve Covers and Oil Pan
6.             - Engine and all internal components

6.0L Ford Powerstroke

Ford's new 6.0 Liter Power Stroke diesel engine, with its 325 horsepower max output adds more than 100 horsepower to its predecessor and 560 ft lbs torque is one of the newer diesels to enter the market. While the Power Stroke name has been around for a while, the 6.0 litre engine is all new and incorporates a few unique features.

This is an electronically controlled direct injection diesel engine. Direct injection describes the fuel being injected directly into the engine cylinder instead of a pre-combustion chamber style external to the cylinder used on some diesel engines.

One drawback is that oil used in the Power Stroke engine must be the correct type or it may foam as it passes through the injector, causing rough running and hard starting.

There are many other features of the Power Stroke engine that enable its outstanding performance. These include a variable vane turbocharger, an air to air intercooler and a four valve per cylinder head design.

Ford's 6.0 litre Power Stroke engine is a modern diesel that offers the clean power and performance we seek in a work vehicle with sophistication that allows owners to drive a diesel with the same comfort level as a gasoline engine.

One draw back to all this technology is the cost of replacement of parts and oiling issues with the turbo that can cause the entire engine to fail.

RJ Performance offers a economical alternative to purchasing a engine directly from a dealer or attempting to locate the parts to rebuild these advanced engines.

In addition to the 7.3L Powerstroke EPA test engines we carry replacement 6.0L complete engines with under 3000 operating miles.
